Only a few months back, a report was obtained from the Centres for Disease Control points out that obesity rates in young children have risen but this study has only observed the data of the previous decade, and the overall stats seem to be somewhat different.

Researchers of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill stated that when this data is incorporated from the 1990s, the story is entirely different.

An assistant professor of Paediatrics, Dr. Asheley Cockrell Skinner mentioned – “For overweight and obesity there’s generally not any change. There’s certainly not the decrease reported before.”

This has been happening in the year 2003 since there has been an inexplicable sudden rise in the total count of obese kids in the Unites States of America, so even any small decrease in the total number also doesn’t do much in going below the lowest point.

Experts believe that the obesity rates of people during childhood remain consistent and do not really go up. However, the total number of obese kids has in fact doubled since the year 1999. Skinner further added – “Kids on these really severe ends are the kinds of kids who, they’re the ones who do get Type 2 Diabetes while they’re actually teenagers.”

This specific group of kids includes about 2% of all the children but the data that was collected most recently indicates that kids who are obese consist of 17% and overweight kids are about 30% of the total number of kids.

The researchers state that more resources will be required in order to assist families lead healthy lives on a day-to-day basis; this definitely suggests that everyone will need to increase their daily activity apart from changing their eating habits.
