Eating Rice Has More Than One Health Benefits!

A recent study has revealed that eating white or brown rice can boost overall health and improve quality of life. The research was headed by Dr. Theresa Nicklas, from the Baylor College of Medicine, who has conducted this initiative has published their finding in the journal Food and Nutrition Sciences. The survey was conducted on 14,386 adults by taking data sets from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey between the years 2005-2010. In this study, the consumption of rice was associated with overall eating plan and dietary nutrient intakes.

The results showed that participants could simple improve their diets by consuming white or brown rice, as a part of their daily meals. When consumption of white or brown rice was evaluated against consumption of other healthy food, it was seen that people who consumed rice were more likely to have a balanced diet. According to the guidelines laid by the U.S. Dietary Guidelines, participants eating rice had the right balance of nutrient intakes. Rice eating people had consistent amounts of folate or iron, potassium, magnesium, fibers and total carbohydrates. The consumption of added sugars and total fats were found on the lesser side.

A human clinical trial had linked rice consumption with overall health effects and found that meals inclusive of rice gave feelings of being full, which was more than equivalent glucose solution. It is highly recommended to include white rice or whole grain brown rice in one’s meal, according to clinical findings. It nourishes health as well as suppresses hunger after a wholesome meal.

Consuming rice on a regular basis automatically includes more servings of vegetables, fruits, lentils, meat and beans. There are positive effects of including rice in day to day eating plan. Eating rice not only checks body weight, it enhances quality of diet and improves health on a whole.
